February
1, 1999--Monday Nitro
Barry Windham and Curt Hennig d. Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit
This was a fairly good opening match for Nitro. It was billed as
part of
the tag team title tournament. The Horsemen
team lost after a superplex
from Windham, a flying headbutt from Benoit, and the Hennigplex on
Benoit. Judging from rumors around the Internet, this will be the
match
at SuperBrawl for the belts, so expect the Horsemen to go through the
losers' bracket quite easily.
Scott Hall d. Chris Benoit
Although he lost, it's great to see Benoit main eventing a show.
Hall needed
help from Kevin Nash to finish this one out, but it was quite a competitive
match.
